Program Criteria:

How does a 24-7 knowledge accessible culture inform 21st century schools?

How does the discontinues and fragmented exchange of knowledge throughout the day inform the schools relationships with its neighborhood?

What methods can develop these ideas in a school design?

  • Displacement
  • Continued Change
  • Domesticating the school
  • Real people, social effects, multi-facility users, utilize competitive nature
  • Large open space alongside enclosed space
  • As many possible spaces for as many possible experiences
  • Spaces that create exploring and understanding of what the world has to offer
  • Allow for public discourse
  • Taking apart existing structures and build off fragments, use obsolescent
  • Complex design for complex education
  • Leaving the school territory, activate inbetween
  • Create new knowledge and new architectural discourse
